The Challenge
The UK independent wrestling scene is active, fragmented, and oddly difficult to follow unless you already know where to look.
Shows are scattered across different promotions, social feeds are inconsistent, and talent visibility depends heavily on who you already follow. For fans, it’s hard to keep track. For wrestlers, getting noticed is even harder.
The challenge was to bring all of that into one place without losing the raw, high-energy feel of the scene. It needed to be structured enough to navigate, but still feel like wrestling, not a corporate events directory.
There was also a split audience to consider. Fans want discovery and updates. Wrestlers and promotions want visibility, profiles, and opportunities. The platform had to serve both without feeling bloated or confusing.
The Solution
We designed Wrestlebase as a central hub for the UK indie scene, focused on clarity, speed, and presence.
The visual direction pulls from live event graphics and fight branding. High contrast, bold typography, and sharp red accents create a sense of urgency and movement across the interface. It feels current, loud, and unapologetic, which is exactly where this space lives.
Structurally, the platform is built around three core areas: shows, wrestlers, and promotions. Each section is easy to access and designed to surface the right information quickly. Users can find events by date or location, explore talent profiles, and track promotions without digging through layers of content.
For wrestlers and promotions, the ability to create profiles and listings gives them a presence that isn’t tied to social algorithms. They’re not buried under timelines or competing for attention in the same way.
